For many apartment-ites, a night out on the town can be a common occurrence, especially after a hard week at work. A night out with friends for a few drinks, some live music, heck, even a few frames of bowling is practically a necessity for remaining sane in this I-need-it-yesterday world. But sometimes it just feels right to go all out - dress to the nines, dance the night away
to the trendiest DJ's, and spend way too much of that newly earned paycheck. For those nights, St. Louis apartment-ites know there is only one spot to be seen in the scene - the Pepper Lounge.
Despite its tikki-centric décor and hipster Hawaiian vibe, the Pepper Lounge is definitely not a place to wear flip-flops or that new floral print shirt that's loud enough for Beethoven to hear. The dress code is one of unspecified class and elegant cool - in other words, the door man either thinks you get it or you don't, and at the Pepper Lounge his word is as good as law. No baseball hats, no jeans, and definitely no cowboy boots allowed at this hipster haven; rather, sleek skirts, crisp black collars and un-scuffed shoes are the way to go.
Assuming you've got the goods to get past the main gate sentry, the Pepper Lounge offers everything a St. Louis-area apartment-ite would expect of a ritzy hot spot. Private bottle service is available at comfortably plush tables that seat up to six, although there is a two-bottle minimum that averages around $400 before gratuity. Grey Goose vodka, Maker's Mark bourbon, Bacardi rum and Glen Livet scotch highlight the top shelf selections available at the Pepper Lounge, ensuring high class libations without the burdensome morning-after headache that those well drinks you're used to normally invites. Also, don't be surprised to spot a visiting St. Louis-area celebrity in your neighboring booth at the Pepper Lounge and, let's face it, no one wants Jack Nicholson to see you drinking a Crystal Palace martini.
The dance floor is tight but happening, with a top-of-the-line sound system that puts your apartment's home theater to shame. The lights are also decked out to rival anything this side of New York City, ensuring not only the perfect club ambiance but a fortunate degree of camouflage for the rhythmically challenged. The DJs are among the best that St. Louis has to offer, spinning the hottest mix of club, hip-hop, reggae and other booty-shaking anthems until 2 a.m. every night of the week. For St. Louis-area apartment-ites looking for the scene to be seen, the Pepper Lounge is definitely the dash you need to spice up any night.
